When I try to create a PDF with pdflatex from a tex file containing PNG images, it prints out a lot of duplicated errors or just entirely segfaults.

Problem solved by downgrading libpng from 1.2.7 to 1.2.5. Maybe some library still needs to be rebuilt? Or of course there might be some incompatibility between pdflatex and linpng 1.2.7...

I have some time to actually fix this now... but with the upgrade we lost all the attachments. Can you re-upload it?

Sure, there it is again.

This only occurs for png's with an alpha channel. After doing "gimp->Image->Flatten Image" and saving, pdflatex will include your png just fine.

libpng 1.2.8 is out

alpha channel still a problem?

I tested the crash example and it doesn't seem to crash anymore. Probably this can be closed.

That's my job... just wait around till it's fixed upstream... ;)
