I noticed that since my 2.6.9 upgrade, my Arch Linux 0.7pre+ would somewhat freeze. Actually, the correct term is that "I am not able to load new applications". The ones that currently work, they work ok, but I can't load new apps, from either the terminal or menus. Please note that not all apps have the problem. For example, "ifconfig" does have it, while "ls" doesn't. "File-Roller" does, while "X" itself or "metacity" doesn't. (however, this depends on the time this problem happens) Most apps do have the problem and they don't load.

I don't know how to explain this better, but after using the machine for more than 1-3 hours, new apps refuse to load.

I didn't have the problem before 2.6.9.

Maybe an Xauthority thing?
Comment by Askadar (askadar) - Monday, 24 January 2005, 16:42 GMT
ifconfig does not care about Xauthority
