DetailsSince the kernel does not actually break if its included firmware is not present, and I would expect a majority of users do not need any of these firmware images, please consider changing this dependency to an optdepend. (Alternately, just drop the dep entirely since both packages are in base and will be automatically installed anyway.)
The aim here is to allow those who object to "non-free" firmware to easily remove it without doing extra work, while still installing it by default for the ease-of-use of more liberal-minded users. |
