Description:
In the PKGBUILD for the scummvm package, the argument --disable-fluidsynth argument is called. This is is unnecessary. The PKGBUILD should be updated to depend on fluidsynth, and the line --disable-fluidsynth removed. Furthermore, the PKGBUILD calls --disable-debug. This should not be done at all. ScummVM does have bugs and is actively developed. I've attached a corrected PKGBUILD. I've installed ScummVM with Fluidsynth support, it works. I'm sat here listening to the Monkey Island 2 theme with Fluidsynth and a fantastic soundfont. With OSS, even! Why on Earth it was disabled in the first place is beyond me. Additional info: * scummvm 1.0.0-1 Steps to reproduce: Just look at the PKGBUILD |

-1 for --enable-debug (we don't provide binaries with debug symbols and we strip binaries to use less space)
To make scummvm work with either timidity++ or fluidsynth, make sure either is running.
Then open ~/.scummvmrc and make sure there is no soundfont= entry.
Add the following to the [scummvm] section:
music_driver=alsa
alsa_port=128:0
Scummvm should now be using your fancy soundfont through timidity++ or fluidsynth
