To burn dvds, k3b needs the dvd+rw-tools package, on which the k3b package currently doesn't depend. The dvd+rw-tools package is a very small one, so even though it might be optional for people that just burn cds, I think it should still be included to cater for people that want to burn dvds.

hmm ... but it would mean that you are forced to have dvd+rw-tools installed, also if you don't have a dvd burner

The dvd+rw-tools package takes only 192K when installed. Other packages install megabytes of stuff I don't need. I think this 192K extra weights up to the problem people run into when trying to burn a DVD with k3b.

i'll think about it for the next release ... not sure for now (till now, i never added not needed deps just like that) ... one alternative is to have a info, when updating/installing k3b, that you need dvd+rw-tools to burn dvd ... or sometihn like this

192kb extra is 192kb too much on a system not having a dvd burner

The info sounds like a good alternative to depending on it.
