According to lspci -v I have a Network controller: Realtek Semicondictor ... Device 8192 (rev01) which is detected by 2.6.32.1 from testing and the corresponding kernel-module r8192_pci with kernel-driver rtl819xE are loaded. However, the device cannot be used because the needed firmware could not be loaded. According to dmesg (after boot) I get the following error messages: rtl819xE: PlatformInitFirmware() ==> rtl819xE 0000:02:00.0: firmware: requesting RTL8192E/boot.img rtl819xE: request firmware fail rtl819xE: ERR in init_firmware() rtl819xE: ERR!!! _rtl8192_up(): initialization failed If any further information is useful, I'll try to provide.... Additional info: * package version(s) kernel: kernel26-2.6.32.1-1 from testing arch: x86_64 |
