Description:
According to lspci -v I have a

Network controller: Realtek Semicondictor ... Device 8192 (rev01)

which is detected by 2.6.32.1 from testing and the corresponding kernel-module r8192_pci with kernel-driver rtl819xE are loaded.

However, the device cannot be used because the needed firmware could not be loaded.

According to dmesg (after boot) I get the following error messages:

rtl819xE: request firmware fail
rtl819xE: ERR in init_firmware()
rtl819xE: ERR!!! _rtl8192_up(): initialization failed

If any further information is useful, I'll try to provide....

Additional info:
* package version(s)
kernel: kernel26-2.6.32.1-1 from testing
arch: x86_64
