Hello,

with the 2.6.32 kernel from Testing, whenever I start Xorg I get the screen flashing kind of in a white way, till it gets totally white and I cannot even go back to the TTY by pressing ctrl alt f1.

Also, even if I am not in Xorg but in the TTY, as long as Xorg is running the screen flashes (but then not as much).

I have an intel on board graphic card. I am *guessing* it is related to some changes related to the intel graphics in the kernel but I have no idea whwat :)

Every package is up to date to the Testing version.

I manually reverted the kernel to the Core version and it works fine again.

Thanks,

I don't know anything about Xorg, not sure why I got assigned here, maybe you meant someone else?

Try booting with i915.powersave=0 in your bootup line, or make sure that option is passed to the i915 module in some other way. I think the new powersaving options are causing your problems.

ok I will try that and report this.

No it did not change anything.
Is there any log or anything I can give you that would be useful?

check dmesg and /var/log/Xorg.0.log. do you still have a /etc/X11/xorf.conf file? Try without.

Can you attach Xorg.0.log and the output of dmesg?

I just upgraded everything today after a couple weeks not using that computer and now I do see that problem anymore.
Maybe that came with the upgrade of the 2.6.32 kernel?
