Using kuser to add the user to a group it failed missing /etc/gshadow

I just made an empty /etc/gshadow and that worked

you use group passwords?
then the file seems to be needed
kuser is in an early phase that can happen

well you figured out how to ship around the problem :)
but i don't think it's a bug
kuser start withou a problem if the file doesn't exist
i have no such a file either perhaps it's something for filesystem package

Normally I don“t use group passwords. But following the alsa-howto in the wiki I did
# gpasswd -a USERNAME sound

Maybe that is the reason for needing /etc/gshadow

If that is the reason that would happen to everybody following the howto.

My install was brandnew (same day) and I did not do anything else in groups before.
