Description: When using middle-click (and holding) to scroll
webpages, Firefox refuses to stop scrolling after the middle
mouse button is released. Usually until it reaches the top
or bottom of the page and multiple left clicks are made.
Additional info: firefox 3.5.5-1 Config: Smooth scrolling off auto scrolling on (this enables middle click scrolling) Installed Extensions: Adblock Plus DOM Inspector Download Statusbar Download Helper DownTHEMall Firebug Flashblock Greasemonkey Image Zoom Linkification Sage-Too Stylish Targeted-Ad Cookie opt-out Vimperator (disabled at current time) Xmarks Steps to reproduce: Navigate to any page with a reasonably moderate to large amount of content and attempt to use the middle click to scroll. Let go of mouse button. Reproducing the bug seems to be situational. I have yet to notice similar conditions on the pages I have encountered it. Usually it's message boards such as http://wayofthepixel.net . The machine that this bug is present on has 2 GB of RAM, an Atom N270, and runs Arch i686. I apologize if this report isn't specific enough. It's my first bug report. |

I started enabling extensions one by one to determine which one was the culprit, since if it didn't have the bug without extensions, then I knew it was an extension that caused it.
Image Zoom is the extension that causes this bug. Removing it has fixed the issue entirely. In retrospect, the pages that gave me the issue were filled with images, which ImageZoom has to perform Javascript menu additions in order to do its zooming functions.
I have informed the developer of ImageZoom about this bug. The report is located at http://imagezoom.yellowgorilla.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=570
