DetailsI've just tested the new 2.6.32 kernel from testing, and the kernel fails to load the R300 microcode properly when KMS is on
the boot process hangs at platform radeon_cp.0: firmware: requesting radeon/R300_cp.bin http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=550392 describes the same on debian KMS on 2.6.31 works flawlessly |

Including the firmware was indeed a good idea :-)
I used the hook proposed on aur http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=30070
maybe including it with mkinitcpio would be a good thing.
