DetailsDescription:
Current netcdf is built without netcdf-4 support so it cannot read files produced with recent versions and cannot use the HDF5 back end. In other words, it is built in legacy mode. Just adding --enable-netcdf-4 to the PKGBUILD will break a lot of packages because upstream does not correctly link libnetcdf.so to libhdf5.so (they expect users to always explicitly link with -lhdf5_hl -lhdf5). I opened a bug report upstream (they don't have a tracker) so they might fix this in the next release, but for now I suggest relinking libnetcdf.so to avoid breaking the build of pretty much all packages depending on netcdf. |
