Last line in build():

rm -f $pkgdir/pkg/usr/share/texmf-dist/ls-R

should be
rm -f $pkgdir/usr/share/texmf-dist/ls-R
or
rm -f $startdir/pkg/usr/share/texmf-dist/ls-R
