Your logs don't show any failure.

With the Xorg-init 1.2.0 I cannot use 1920x1080 resolution on my Nvidia 9500. Downgrading to 1.1.0 resolved my problem.

the xorg-xinit package has nothing to do with maximum resolution, as it doesn't control server settings in any way. This is weird.

really weird! If I use the 1.2.0 version of Xorg-xinit, I can use only 640x480...........................!!!!

Even stranger: I delete the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file ... and the graphical mode works!

I upgraded in one x86 machine with one Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller (lspci) and all works fine (with the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file). The issue is related with my ATi 4850 X2 graphic card ... or is the resolution of my screen (1680 x 1050), maybe?
