Description:
When clicking the "Render this window" button at the most right of the bottom toolbar (with menu View, Mode combobox, layer buttons, etc) a new window will appear that does a rendering of the current view (independant from the camera, unlike the render button in the scene panel (F10)).

Once you close the render window, Blender will crash.

Can't reproduce this running in a vm. I doubt this is a blender bug.
Comment by Mike Massonnet (m8t) - Sunday, 06 December 2009, 22:49 GMT
Right, I tested in Xephyr and it doesn't crash, perhaps it's the video driver.

Can reproduce.

xf86-video-intel 2.9.1-1
intel-dri 7.6-2

I think this bug is in the driver, not in blender.

Ok, this bug might be: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24185
which is fixed in xf86-video-intel 2.10 (not yet in repos): http://intellinuxgraphics.org/2009Q4.html

The backtraces are different, but both bugs seem to be triggered by the render button.
Can you confirm this?
Comment by MzE2OWM2 (warriant) - Thursday, 07 January 2010, 20:06 GMT
This is fixed already.
Comment by Thomas Dziedzic (tomd123) - Friday, 08 January 2010, 06:43 GMT
Can the original bug filer confirm this? Will close if no one else says anything, since warriant can't reproduce this anymore.
Comment by Mike Massonnet (m8t) - Friday, 08 January 2010, 13:15 GMT
Yes I can confirm too!
Comment by Thomas Dziedzic (tomd123) - Friday, 08 January 2010, 17:18 GMT
The problem is fixed, but to correct my closure request, the fix isn't due to that package. (the above bug report is probably a similar, but unrelated bug)
