No shutdown/reboot in KDE The exact same user does have that under Gnome so it's not a permission issue. KDE is started by the SLiM login manager with this line: exec ck-launch-session startkde note that ck-launch-session is the exact thing that is needed for gnome to have shutdown and reboot.
