DetailsDescription: MySQL upgrade script assumes that the 'mysql' user exists.
Installing the 'mysql' package itself does not create a user called 'mysql' -- that user is created later when AND IF you start /etc/rc.d/mysqld If you never run that initscript, you will see the following errors at MySQL upgrades: ( 3/17) upgrading mysql [#####################] 100% chown: invalid user: `mysql:mysql' error: command failed to execute correctly Additional info: * config and/or log files etc. [2009-10-03 00:37] installed mysql (5.1.38-1) [2009-11-19 17:38] upgraded mysql (5.1.39-1 -> 5.1.41-1) Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a clean install of some older Arch Linux version 2. Install an older version of the mysql package 3. Upgrade mysql to the latest |
