do you try on a clean user home? your mouse work on an plain Xorg (try it under twm)?

Yes, I do; with one clean user's home, the issue also continues.

The mouse pointer moves very well, but I can only click on the K menu button, nothing more.

I'm gonna try under TWM.

Maybe it's worth to assign it then.

The problem seems to be in akonadi package - it can't connect to MySQL. If you don't really need it, you may remove it. Otherwise, please update packages and try to start MySQL manually (sudo /etc/rc.d/mysql restart). Hope this helps

Maybe the failure isn't only the akonadi package. I'm attaching my .xsessions-errors file.

I have this issue in another machine with different hardware also. I'm attaching the .xsessions-errors file.

no problem here on KDE 4.3.98 and akonadi 1.3.0, can someone confirm this?
