DetailsK3bsetup (in k3b) needs kdesu to work. Kdesu is included in the kdebase package. Some people want kdesu without the entire kdebase. Kdesu should be seperated from kdebase into it's own package.

for what is k3bsetup used for?
right for permissions
i think there is a howto how to enable cdrburning with cdrecord
if not there should one be
else run chmod +s 755 cdrecord and all users should be able to burn cd's from cdrecord
the device changes won't have an effect in k3bsetup because the /dev nodes are created dynamically every startup
you have to setup udev or devfs properly for that
k3bsetup is the wrong place for that
