Description:
I updated the system yesterday and it pulled a bunch of xorg and gnome 2.28.1 updates. Since then, the tray icons of gnome-power-manager and networkmanager are not being displayed. The icons seem to be there, they're just not being displayed. If I hover the mouse pointer over them the tooltips show up and if I click on the invisible icons they bring up the pop-up menus as normal.

This bug may be related to bug #16967
I say this because when I update all but these 4 packages: xf86-input-evdev xf86-video-ati xf86-video-vesa xorg-server
The icons show up fine. They disappear only when I update those 4 packages and my system can't run glxgears succesfully.

I just updated to xorg-server-1.7.1.901-1 and the icons have reappeared.

Upgraded to xorg-server 1.7.1.901-2 and the icons went away again.
I made sure to go back to 1.7.1.901-1 to test and indeed the icons reappear. Updating again to 1.7.1.901-2 makes the icons disappear.
