Description:

Starting with the latest update, I noticed fbpanel behaves very strange when using widthtype = request. It worked wonderfully just before the update. I eventually fixed the problem by just recompiling the package myself from ABS without modifications. Could you, the maintainer, please also recompile it and see whether it works for you? I'm guessing you compiled for i686 on a x86_64 chroot but somehow didn't have all the dependencies.

I can't confirm the trouble on x86_64 as I'm bound to i686.

This is probably as easy as just recompiling.

What does "strange" mean?

I install fbpanel on i686 arch linux, modify /usr/share/fbpanel/default directly (set widthtype=request)

then I start fbpanel and it works for me.

Sorry, I assumed the the same behavior would be obvious to you. "Strange" either means that is shows no images, gets resized, shows up at another position each time I start it, doesn't show at all, that kind of thing.

I actually wasn't able to recompile it again and fix it like that. However, I captured a log of errors of which none gets outputted when using "percent" instead of "request".

It honestly doesn't look like an upstream bug because the changes in upstream were minimal according to the changelog.

Any ideas?
