Hello!

Description:
gnome-panel does not start at all.

Additional info:
* package version(s) gnome-panel 2.28.0-1
* Linux arch 2.6.31-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Oct 13 13:36:23 CEST 2009 i686 Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 1.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Steps to reproduce:
Try to make a small installation of gnome:
sudo pacman -S gnome-session metacity gnome-panel
After running startx command, there will be a black screen with small white pixel in upperleft corner of screen.
You can press ALT+F1 and see a part of GNOME main menu. After exiting you'll see next errors:

** (gnome-panel:3904): CRITICAL **: panel_multiscreen_width: assertion
`monitor >= 0 && monitor < monitors [n_screen]' failed

** (gnome-panel:3904): CRITICAL **: panel_multiscreen_height: assertion
`monitor >= 0 && monitor < monitors [n_screen]' failed
...

You can read about this bug here (it became well-known bug):
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=597101

But with Arch Linux it can be solved with one dependency.

There is two ways to solve this problem:
1) I've used the first patch from the url above (look at attachment).
OR
2) I just installed gnome-control-center package and gnome-panel works.
This task depends upon
