DetailsDescription:
Since MythTV has such a slow release cycle (MythTV 0.21 was released in May 2008 and 0.22RC just got out in October 2009), the upcoming mythtv 0.22 package should really be rebuild from the stable (-fixes) branch "once in a while" to eliminate the most common bugs found upstream. Rebuilding perhaps 4 times a year would be perfect, as it would eliminate A LOT of annoying bugs, which were fixed ages ago in the -fixes branch. The Ubuntu-based distribution "MythBuntu" also rebuild the mythtv package from mythtv-fixes. I just checked the MythTV bugtracker, 402 bugs has been closed in 0.21-fixes since the initial release of 0.21 (which is the current version in Arch Linux), of which 72 bugs are rated "major priority" or higher. This is really a lot..and I see several of these bugs on a daily basis in Arch Linux. I hope this is possible, as it will make MythTV on Arch Linux a better userexperience in the future :) |

I cannot participate on Bug Squashing Day. But will do a 0.22 release tomorrow and hope to get rid of most bugs.
