DetailsI run Archlinux on my Dell Mini 9 with an SSD drive. As much as I like how current Arch Linux always is, I'd prefer not to be performing package updates as often as I do on my desktop, to avoid wear on the SSD drive. Rather than installing updates just because there is a new version of a package out, I'd prefer to only be performing package updates due to security issues.
So, my feature request is as follows: 1) have some sort of flag associated with a package that indicates that the new version of the package exists because of a security update, or a security update as well as new features 2) have a command line option for pacman to only download security updates (and their associated package dependency update requirements) Thanks, Mark. |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: We're a rolling release distribution without specific security updates for old packages.

If you want _only_ security updates, then Arch is not the distro for you.
