Description:

Hi!

After boot, a ethernet link is not up, but a link LED on network cards (host and router 192.168.5.1) is ok.

ping 192.168.5.1
PING 192.168.5.1 (192.168.5.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 192.168.5.2 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
From 192.168.5.2 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable
From 192.168.5.2 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable

I rebooted a computer and problem solved (random)

I changed network card, but trouble shooting is not resolved.

Because you have an eth1, I think you may also have an eth0.

The problem may be because at each boot, the names of the two interfaces changes, as a result of a race condition or something like that.

Can you confirm it ?
You have two network cards, one which has a cable (and link), and another which has not ?
Can you paste here the result of "ifconfig -a" ?
