After upgrading to the new xorg server and mesa, starting X as usual causes screen corruption for no obvious reason.
then looking up more it seems as it's compiz related because starting X (gnome as window manager for example) with metacity enabled it starts okay.
then trying to run compiz within gnome simply makes the screen corrupt again.
looking at the logs i can see this:
WARNING: Application calling GLX 1.3 function "glXCreatePixmap" when GLX 1.3 is not supported! This is an application bug!

Searching up on google reveals this bug was fixed in Mesa 7.6! but yet i get this error, it seems as i'm not the only one getting this error.

I tried upgrading to the latest compiz version (8.4) and still no luck.

Using the latest intel driver and also the latest kernel straight from pacman without any changes, i use KMS as well, everything ran just fine before the new Mesa and xorg server.

This task depends upon

Reason for closing:  Works for me
Additional comments about closing:  Two reports that it now works, no other activity in getting up on two months. I can't replicate the issue, hence marking closed.

Same here, Compiz is unusable on an Acer Aspire One (fully updated from testing)

please try building mesa without gallium (maybe also rebuilding your driver after it).

The current mesa version has been compiled without gallium for Intel.
