Description: I want to make php-thttpd package, but php needs thttpd sources to compile. so please add thttpd sources to /usr/src/thttpd/ in thttpd package (directory name is intentialy without version number).

It can be also cool to fix thttpd/apache conflict (it's caused by htpasswd). maybe you can rename /usr/sbin/htpasswd to /usr/sbin/thttpd-htpasswd (and warn users to make symlink if they need it).

thanks ;)

1.) i don't want thttpd to be in conflict with apache. htpasswd can be renamed to not conflict with apache. it can be usefull to have apache and thttpd installed at one time (for building php and serving lot of statical content)

2.) if i'll add thttpd to my source() i will have to watch thttpd and php-thttpd PKGBUILDs to be in sync...

This is not the way building packages works on Arch. You need to include the actual source tarball for thttpd in the sources=() array of a PKGBUILD and use THAT to build it. No package _ever_ installs source with it to /usr/src on Arch.

This can all be done in the PKGBUILD. If you need the _source_ of thttpd, then you don't need the PKGBUILDs to be in sync, because you're not building it. The only thing you need is the versions to be in sync.

Closing this again, as I wanted to address the issue, and say this is completely doable in one single PKGBUILD and sources will NOT be installed as part of the package.
