It is en_US.UTF-8 and it should be en_US.utf8 :

"Important: You need to type the name of the locale exactly as shown in the output of `locale -a`. E.g. LOCALE="en_US.utf8" is valid, while LOCALE="en_US.UTF-8" is not."
Is there any argument why en_US.utf8 is valid and en_US.UTF-8 is not? (except the unbacked statement on the wiki)
For the record: the change [1] was made as a result of
FS#15825- see more details there.Unless there is no solid argument why .utf8 is valid and .UTF-8 is not I consider this as "Not a bug".
