it must be symlinked to /usr/lib/libvorbis.so.0.3.0 else arts will fail to play ogg files.

I dont know what update did it - kdemultimedia or libogg and libvorbis.
Pacman updated libogg and libvorbis and kde too.
xmms, mplayer, xine plays ogg fine. Its only the apps that use arts that have problems.
Comment by Vinay S Shastry (shastry) - Sunday, 24 October 2004, 08:20 GMT
also artsplay cant play ogg if that link is not there

i rebooted and now, without /usr/lib/libvorbis.so.0.2.0 (symlink), ogg wont play again.

huge update:
Its all because of the missing libFLAC.so.4

for some stupid reason, arts wont play ogg if that symlink is missing.

also, "pacman -Ql flac" lists libFLAC.so.4 - but its actually not there.
Comment by Vinay S Shastry (shastry) - Tuesday, 26 October 2004, 02:50 GMT
damn, man - bad reading - flac doesnt include that symlink (the pacman query actually listed - libFLAC++.so.4 (sorry :| ) )

please let the flac package manager know ant this.
symlink libFLAC.so.4 is needed for arts to work properly

k, the new kdemultimedia fixes it.

(but amarok needs that flac symlink.)
Comment by Vinay S Shastry (shastry) - Tuesday, 26 October 2004, 04:43 GMT
