DetailsWith GNOME 2.28 arriving, it's time to make esound an optional package, which is currently not the case.
Here is the list of the packages which requires esound. I think for all of them that esound should be an optional dependency (except maybe enlightenment?). * bmp * cinelerra-cv * enlightenment * epplet-base * freeciv * gmerlin * gstreamer0.10-good-plugins * kvirc * kvm * libgnome * qemu * vice * xine-lib * xmms And by the way, why are bmp and xmms still in extra ? Those projects have been dead for ages and replaced by audacious. |

Additional comments about closing: All community packages listed that don't explicitly depend on esound have been rebuilt with esound as an optdepend. All other packages are in extra. Please open another ticket specifically for the packages in extra in the appropriate location.

PS: xmms-1.2.11, is dead true, but just works fine and is really fast, lightweight, simple, cute and practical, in other words is the best mp3 player on the universe ;)
gmerlin rebuilt as optdepends
kvirc rebuilt as optdepends
As the rest are in extra, I am closing this ticket. If you want them to be rebuilt without esound or as an optdepend, please open a ticket in the proper tracker.
