I reported a problem upstream: http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=3498

When using Subclipse, Eclipse freezes if the usage of gnome-keyring by
subversion is enabled. I found a workaround at the following link:

The link states in order for Eclipse to work, the password managers need to be
disabled by setting in ~/.subversion/config:
[auth]
password-stores =

If this is a bug in subversion rather than Subclipse/Eclipse/whatever, I would
expect that the workaround would not be necessary, and Eclipse would not freeze.

The package version of subversion I have installed is 1.6.5-3. I have installed Eclipse 3.5.0 and Subclipse 1.6.5 from the websites.

Perhaps as a workaround, subversion could be compiled without gnome-keyring and kwallet support.

@djgera: why did you assign this to me? I mean... as I understood it, it's a subversion bug that happens with gnome, and the workaround is based on subversion, too. I don't think I'm involved at all, but feel free to correct me :)

mmm, true true. I guess that this task can be closed, since is an upstream bug (aparently in subversion?), and not a packaging issue. We can not do much more here. ok?

Maybe I didn't separate it enough from the text I gave upstream, but as a workaround here downstream, perhaps subversion could be compiled without gnome-keyring and kwallet support. If you don't find the solution desirable, that's fine, but you didn't address it.

Also, I'm using KDEmod, but gnome-keyring got installed since I use the Evolution email client (need the Exchange support). I only state this because bardo assumed I was using gnome. I don't know if this is relevant, but I'd rather tell you too much than too little...

@Adam: I didn't suppose anything, I just missed the 'kwallet' part :) Anyway, I'm just a TU, and I'm not the subversion maintainer, but I think that rebuilding the whole thing just to disable the support could be a bit overkill. A quick workaround is available, and we only got your report since the bug was found. I don't know when exactly the bug came to light, but the last edit of the subversion wiki page was almost three months ago, so it surely doesn't affect many users.

In the end, though, the maintainer will decide for the best course of action. I'm assigning the bug to him.

Sorry for the delay here.

It is not a problem with subversion, it is a problem with Javahl, for now, disable kwallet ou keyring in .subversion/config.
