Details

The contents of vim-matchit are already deliverd by vim:
/usr/share/vim/vim72/macros/matchit.txt
/usr/share/vim/vim72/macros/matchit.vim

vim-matchit could just symlink these to
/usr/share/vim/vim72/{doc,plugin}
for system-wide activation.

Yeah the new location of vim related files in /usr/share/vim/vimfiles/*, it should work without the earlier one and vim72, I've attached the corrected vimdoc.install file.
