This thread details an ideal situation. A /etc/conf.d/network setup.
In addition, wireless settings could be included here (ESSID, NWID, etc).
This way, dhcpcd parameters can be controlled, in addition to iwconfig settings.

Latest dhcpcd package has a /etc/conf.d/dhcpcd which can set the arguments passed to the daemon. use the -R switch if you don't want dhcpcd to overwrite your resolv.conf.
