I don't think so, the error message is different.

This bug is similar to  bug 16090  but for another package (vi).

Alexander, please read http://www.archlinux.org/news/445/. I would also recommend going with the vim package instead, as the current vi package in [testing] is the original vi editor, whose last release was over four years ago.
