DetailsSince the last upgrade some programs including wish and mplayer segfault right at start.
I suspect the glibc package, as tk was not upgraded and installing the previous mplayer version from the cache segfaults too. The gdb trace is identical for mplayer and wishx: #0 0x403213cc in memcpy () from /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #1 0x4038c850 in __libc_pthread_init () from /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #2 0x401ae6b6 in __pthread_initialize_minimal_internal () from /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 #3 0x401ae348 in call_initialize_minimal () from /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 #4 0x401adf28 in _init () from /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 #5 0x4000c6c7 in call_init () from /lib/ld-linux.so.2 #6 0x4000c82b in _dl_init_internal () from /lib/ld-linux.so.2 #7 0x40000b55 in _dl_start_user () from /lib/ld-linux.so.2 Versions: - kernel 2.6.7-rc1 (custom built) - Tk 8.4.7-1 - mplayer 1.0pre5-5 - glibc 2.3.3-2 The system is otherwise up-to-date as of 2004-10-08 Some questions: - How can I help to narrow down the problem ? - How can I get the previous version of glibc ? |
