Description:

The package in extra/ for pidgin has been broken for a couple weeks:

pidgin: error while loading shared libraries: libgstinterfaces-0.10.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It appears as though it's unmaintained; even so, it'd be nice if someone could rebuild it so that it actually works out of the box.

Steps to reproduce:

1.) install arch
2.) install pidgin

Sorry, but the current package in extra is BROKEN; meaning, will not work out of the box. I don't think this is a duplicate from a 6 month old bug - it just came up since the 2.6.x update. Also, since pizzapunk isn't around (see dev-ml posting), that bug should be assigned to someone else. At least, the package should be rebuilt in a chroot; this is a 2 minute job, and having broken packages out of the box is unacceptable.

Thanks for re-opening.

Also, a great time to fix it - 2.6.2 is out; this is also a security update, so should be rebuilt sooner than later:
