DetailsAfter installing texlive-bin (and texlive-core), "pdflatex" fails with:
pdflatex: error while loading shared libraries: libpoppler.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory The solution was simple, I installed "poppler" and everything works fine. Therefore I suggest that poppler is added as a dependency. |

fmtutils-sys --all was not run. So was getting the following error.
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.10 (TeX Live 2009/Arch Linux)
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
So the fix is (run as root)
$ pacman -S poppler
$ fmtutil-sys --all
To fix as suggested by rck include poppler dependency. I dont know why fmutil-sys did not run for me automatically
even after poppler being installed
Concerning fmtutil-sys --all: see http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/16076#comment49215
