Description:
k3b 1.66.0alpha2-2 can't find a CD/DVD writer at least when started as an unprivileged user. When I start k3b a window with this text is opened: "No CD/DVD writer found. K3b did not find an optical writing device in your system. Thus, you will not be able to burn CDs or DVDs. However, you can still use other K3b features such as audio track extraction, audio transcoding or ISO9660 image creation." The file permissions for /dev/sr0 is root:optical 660 and the other links like /dev/dvd are set correctly. The unprivileged user is in the optical group. I don't have such an issue with other burning GUIs. Changing the settings in k3bsetup doesn't help. Additional info: * package version(s) k3b 1.66.0alpha2-2 udev 145-1 hal 0.5.12git20090421.4fc367-2 dbus 1.2.14-1 kernel26 2.6.30.4-1 |

This is a recent issue? At least my k3b-1.66.0alpha2-3 works fine
here.

Sorry, I've forgotten this bug. In the meantime another system
update has fixed this bug. I don't know, which update has fixed
it, but K3b finds the CD/DVD writer again.
