Details
The "experimental" branch of bonnie++ has been the author's
sole work for a long time now, and releases from it have
been keyworded as Stable in Gentoo and will be appearing in
Debian Squeeze which should arrive this winter IIRC.
You can find a PKGBUILD for the experimental version here: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=24114 (Please do delete it if it is made the official version) This will also save me the hassle of maintaining a package with the odd name 'bonnie++-exper', which breaks many AUR tools :P |

Do NOT report bugs when a package is just outdated, or it is in Unsupported. Use the 'flag out of date' link on the package page, or the Mailing List.
REPEAT: Do NOT report bugs for outdated packages!
