Description: Firmware for Freecom DVB-T is missing from /lib/firmware. When plugging device in there is an error message in dmesg requesting the attached firmware:

Aug 14 00:14:49 aspireone kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (based on ZL353)' in cold state, will try to load a firmware
Aug 14 00:14:49 aspireone kernel: usb 1-2: firmware: requesting dvb-usb-wt220u-zl0353-01.fw
Aug 14 00:14:49 aspireone kernel: dvb-usb: did not find the firmware file. (dvb-usb-wt220u-zl0353-01.fw) Please see linux/Documentation/dvb/ for more details on firmware-problems. (-2)

Additional info: We had the same issue in Ubuntu, we had the firmware, it went missing and we repackaged. It's trivial, if you check logs - new users don't ;-)

* kernel26-firmware 2.6.30-1
* Firmware attached

Steps to reproduce:
* Plug in Freecom DVB-T USB card.
* Check dmesg

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  Not part of kernel sources. A package in AUR is the way to go.

Seems that this firmware, and others are not part of Linux source tree, you need to download from http://www.linuxtv.org/downloads/firmware/

I know where to obtain it, I attached it to the bug!

It's very small and as I said, the message is in the logs not displayed at the console, so for anyone unfamiliar with the system this may not be an apparent nor trivial issue.

Yes, but kernel26-firmware only provide firmwares in Linux source tree, not others. Size does not matter in this case. Maybe if you are interested can create a PKGBUILD for it and submit to AUR, like is done for other firmwares.

Maybe, I am not sure, these firmwares are not in Linux tree by licenses issues.

I'd recommend putting a PKGBUILD in the AUR, and we can bubble it up based on popularity.
