maybe i should put a hook in aif like "if legacy-ide is in use during installation, change mkinitcpio.conf already for user".

not sure if this is still useful, with legacy-ide being kind of old?

FYI, the IDE subsystem goes away entirely with 3.1-ARCH. I'll likely remove the hook from mkinitcpio sometime after that.

Ancient unloved FS is ancient.

Should probably just close it. I haven't removed the ide hook yet, but it's definitely gone from the kernel.
