Summary and Info:
I upgraded from kernel 2.6.27 to 2.6.30 and now have no sound.

Steps to Reproduce:
I see these messages:

$ dmesg |grep yamaha
Yamaha DS-1 PCI 0000:02:0d.0: found PCI INT A -> IRQ 9
Yamaha DS-1 PCI 0000:02:0d.0: firmware: requesting yamaha/ds1_dsp.fw
Yamaha DS-1 PCI: probe of 0000:02:0d.0 failed with error -2

$ locate ds1_dsp.fw
/dev/.udev/firmware-missing/yamaha\x2fds1_dsp.fw

As far as I can tell kernel26-firmware is missing ds1_dsp.fw

Dang, that should be under 'Arch Linux' not 'Pacman'. If there is a way to edit the bug report, I'm not seeing it.

Maybe an upstream issue with it?

@djgera - hmmm I should have looked in kernel26-firmware-2.6.30-1. I re-installed kernel26-firmware-2.6.30-1 and the sound module loaded. It is weird only some of the files were installed the first time.

This is solved, sorry for the noise.
