Brasero does not want to erase double layer DVD+RW disks (everything in the dialog is disabled)
and does not want to write an ISO to such disk (complains that it is not supported with the current backend).
Backend options are default (didn't change anything in gconf because I don't remember how to correctly enable libburn/libisofs and there aren't default gconf entries for them as described on the official site).

The interesting thing is that nautilus-cd-burner does work, maybe because it depends (and I guess makes use of) dvd+rw-tools (which is a fork of cdrecord intended for better DVD+RW support.

Is there a possibility to use dvd+rw-tools in brasero? Or what is needed to make it work with DVD+RW DL?

As a side-note - the default gconf schema does not seem to be complete (it was always so, at least I remember that from the times I maintained brasero in Community) - is there a way to fix it with the recent brasero versions?
This task depends upon

Just installing libburn/libisofs should enable them as a backend. I believe brasero uses them preferentially.

This wasn't the case in past, and I am not sure if things changed because this text is still on their site:
> Supports multiple backends: cdrtools, growisofs and libburn(optional).
> Note: compiling against libburn is _not_enough. You need to activate the backend through GConf editor at "/apps/brasero/config/libburn_burn and /apps/brasero/config/libburn_iso"

Anyway I have them installed. But there's no easy way to select which backend to use so I don't know which one is used.

you can raise the priority of a backend from /apps/brasero/config/priority

brasero needs really dvd+rw-tools, please seedebian-bugs-closed@lists.debian.org/msg269874.html"> http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-closed@lists.debian.org/msg269874.html

I have problem with burning DVD+RW, because brasero calls growisofs (from dvd+rw-tools package),but i have not this. After install dvd+rw-tools works fine.
