  • Field changed: Summary (no menu icon for mythtv → [mythtv] no menu icon)
  • Field changed: Status (Unconfirmed → Assigned)
  • Task assigned to Jürgen Hötzel (juergen)
I do not know if mythtv source contains a desktop/icon file: "A package which does not include a .desktop file or icons or other freedesktop stuff. This is not a bug if such files are not included in the source tarball, and this must be requested as a feature request upstream. If such files are provided by upstream but not used in the package then this is a bug."

if it is not visible in menu but available in package (pacman -Ql <pkgname> | grep .desktop) then probably .desktop file is broken;
if it is not available in package source (URL(s) can be seen in PKGBUILD) then it is not provided by upstream - file a bug report upstream
(you can even create a .desktop file by yourself and submit it to upstream devs: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Creating_desktop_entries_and_menus )
in addition, check http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Desktop_Project for the list of packages without .desktop files (it is outdated now though)

in avoidance of of duplicated efforts:

I cannot participate on Bug Squashing Day. But will do a 0.22 release tomorrow and hope to get rid of most bugs.
