Description:
Since kernel-2.6.30 conky does not work/start if the sbs kernel module is loaded. My Laptop is a Acer Extensa 3001 with a Smart Battery. If I run "cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state" (4x for example) it takes some time for the first and third execution. The second and fourth execution show the output immediatly, and so on. If I unload the sbs module conky works. If I modprobe sbs after conky has started, it freezes. If I now run "cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state" conky updates the Battery Information, works for a few seconds and freezes again. If I boot without acpi (acpi=off) conky also works. Additional info: System is up-to-date. using a fixed DSDT dos not solve it for me. Booting: Since 2.6.30 "Loading standard ACPI Modules" takes a very long time. http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=75598 P.S. With kernel Versions < 2.6.30 (don't know since which version) I had the problem conky wasn't updating the battery status automaticly. Only after "cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state" conky updated the battery informations. Maybe that's related to this task? http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/9572 |

If I remove all acpi related conky varibales ( ${acpiacadapter},
${battery_percent} and ${acpitemp} ) from my conkyrc file, conky
works with 2.6.30-ARCH and loaded sbs module.
