Description: upgraded to amarok 2.1-1. Crashes after splash screen. Might be a qt thing also.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce: Run amarok from terminal window and I receive this report:

Reason for closing:  Works for me
Additional comments about closing:  Appears to be kdemod specific

Is your system up2date? I think this might be caused by some outdated kde or qt package. The dependencies of amarok aren't that strict, so you might have an outdated qt for example.

Same issue here just updated all my system, removed any amarok "tmp" file and re-installed, still crashes.

Running amarok from consoles outputs this:

Which version of qt are you using?
Comment by José Luis Castellón Sosa (xXZeroXx) - Saturday, 11 July 2009, 20:06 GMT
qtmod v4.5.1-2

Try qt from extra or use amarok from kdemod.
Comment by José Luis Castellón Sosa (xXZeroXx) - Sunday, 12 July 2009, 03:41 GMT
Both options make amarok crash I had already tried that.

I have the same problem with kdemod packages. (qtmod v4.5.1-2)

Which architecture is this btw?
Comment by Steven J. Slizewski (slyski) - Sunday, 12 July 2009, 12:24 GMT
x86_64

By the looks of it I should have listed this bug on the kdemod forums cause that is what I am using also. I forgot that kdemod uses the qtmod.
Both types of amaroks crash the same way.

Should I request a closure? :)

I can't reproduce this with qt 4.5.2-2 from testing, so this is kdemod specific. Either their qt was compiled with a different compiler, or one of their modifications break ABI with the normal qt version.

Just reported this bug over at kdemod.
We'll see what they have to say then I'll request a closure here.

Thanks all
