Description:
If I launched Ekiga under terminal window, so no debug messages are not visible.
A configuring the sound in the program is simple, but I can not configure the program so that to hear the sound (audio out).
A list of audio devices is not big:
"SILENT (EKIGA/EKIGA)"
"/dev/sound/dsp (PTLIB/ALSA)"
"CA0106 (1) (PTLIB/ALSA)"
"CA0106 (2) (PTLIB/ALSA)"
"CA0106 (3) (PTLIB/ALSA)"
"CA0106 (PTLIB/ALSA)"
And I try all of these devices. inconclusive.

I asked that one on the archlinux forum (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=75636) but there're answer nothing.

>In all other applications sound perfectly audible.<

@JGC: what do you think about this?

And more. I do not run any applications that I use sound at a time when I run Ekiga.
However, I have not observed any conflicts when I start smplayer and amarok at the same time.
Although, I do not use pulse, or even the "innovation". as and mentioned earlier.

I get the same issue with the new package (extra/ekiga 3.2.5-1 [installed]).

Sound is working when I do Edit / Preferences / General / Sound Events / Play (on every sound of the list).
The mic in Ekiga seems to work well because when I call "Echo Test" I can see mic volume control moving thanks to my voice in the sound properties of the call.

I've also tried this command in a terminal : "arecord -D plughw:0,0 -c 1 -r 8000 -f S16_LE - | aplay -D plughw:0,0 -c 1 -r 8000 -f S16_LE -" and I can hear myself.

I can confirm the sound problem on archlinux x86_64. Sounds on the sound events configuration page will play fine, but I can't send or receive any sound through the echo test.

Is this still an issue with ekiga 3.3.0? The new ekiga uses pulseaudio.
