Upgraded my firefox and now have this error after trying to change my preferences:

Failed to save the preferences file. Any preference changes will be lost at the end of this session.

LavaPunk, did you ever start that copy of Firefox as root?

Turns out you need to delete a certain as described on the forums. Or create a new profile (which I did, and fixed it). Sorry can't find the forum link riht now though. To my knowledge I never started firefox as root (never, ever, ever... that'd be crazy :P)
