There are many kernel-related bugreports and the developer this bug was assigned to is quite busy.
So it is not reasonable to expect immediate work on the issue.
and if your problem is not reported yet - register and report it. This will greatly improve chances for it to be fixed.
They do not let this release is likely. And you have admitted.
You will be put in the "beta" distribution, but I will directly write bagreports to developer?
I do not use Linux from scratch, and distribution. Are You the same as it monitors the quality of that spread?
Is That not true? Am I beta tester?
You are not using beta software. The fact that there are bugs in stable kernel/ALSA releases doesn't mean they are beta.
There are always some bugs even in the "stable" releases of any software.
And ALSA subsystem is known to always be problematic for some people, there is no way around it (it's mostly true for hardware support in general).
What I was trying to say is that usually we cannot fix upstream bugs in software because we don't have enough resources for that.
What we can do is applying some existing patch or tweaking some option or something like that.
So reporting bugs to official developers helps fixing bug in Arch as well, because:
1) upstream developers have more resources for that,
2) they are more experienced in fixing bugs in software they made themselves than we are.
If the problem you described does not exist on some other distros - it would be helpful if you provided information about what kernel/ALSA versions do they use and if they use some patches that could be related to your issue (in case they use some patch - we could include it in our kernel package as well).
I created bagreport here https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=4618 , if you are interested, or you can share any more information there.
Once again, thank you for your feedback.
problem was closed.
I guess ALSA developers will fix this sometime since it is now posted on their bugtracker (thank you for that!).
