If this LD_PRELOAD thing fixes the bug, then it's a bug in flash, not firefox. Please report this at adobe.

This only happens with the proprietary nvidia driver/libGL, the nv driver works without crashing.

Report it upstream then. AFAIK the flash plugin will only use hardware acceleration with Nvidia drivers, and I refuse to add a crappy workaround just for nvidia drivers.
