Description:
latest mplayer from testing is built against libjpeg 6 instead of 7

$ mplayer
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.62: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

are you sure this is not caused by one of mplayer's dependency's library?
do you have all mplayer's dependencies updated to the latest version too?

readelf shows libjpeg.so.62 as direct dependency, so this is an issue with mplayer.
